Hey All!
Thanks for the get well emails to my pop. He is doing fantastic! We had our follow up appointment with the surgeon yesterday and he has been given the "all clear!" He is able to take his cervical collar off and has graduated from the wheelchair to a walker to a cane. It is really fantastic. It has been great coming home and being able to help him back on his feet...however trying at times. (Imagine my mom, dad, sister, *new*brother-in-law, my dog and myself all in a two bedroom--two bath condo!) Now that would make for quite the reality show. ;)
We finally got some photos back from the wedding so here are a few more posts.

I am sneaking away to Colorado next week with Gay.com and will be out and about in Denver next Friday. Who knows where we'll end up or what kind of trouble we'll find but I love Denver - can't wait!

Hey All!
So sorry it's been a while since my last post. (Thanks for all the email reminders :P) Things here have been a bit hectic. Last note I dropped was me heading out to San Diego for my sister's wedding. QUITE a bit has happened since then. Where to even begin...
I was just getting back from Nova Scotia - that story will be running at Gay.Com the third week of August - watch for the link here. Then it was off to SD to help my sister prepare for her wedding day.
The week before my sister's wedding was fantastically chaotic! :) We ran all over San Diego getting the last minute details ready for the big day. I spent a lot of time on the computer helping my sis with graphics and slide shows. (Her wedding was held in a movie theatre with a feature film and a Q&A slide show before the movie.) It was truly a magical night - Everything from walking my mom down the aisle, to officiating to dancing all night long after the wedding. I even sang for my sis and her new husband. The link below is a quicktime movie from my friend Angelo's camera. I sang a medley from Into the Woods, a show my sis and I did together when I was 16. Our Witch had gotten in a car wreck, our Repunzel stepped up to the Witch and my sister who happened to be in town stepped up and learned the show in 30 minutes and went on to perform Repunzel for the weekend. We didn't think we could get it to work - but last minute it came together, wrote new words, no rehearsal, or a sound check. OY! Here's a bit of the medley (They met on eharmony.com...thus the eharmony bit :)) - The movie is on its side - am working on getting it flipped around. I barely make it through...but I squeak it out - ok, so I was emotional. :)

Monday came too early when my father was taken into surgery due to stenosis of his spine. We had known the surgery was coming but did not expect any of the complications that we've been dealing with the last couple of weeks...thus my being MIA. The surgery was a "success" but my dad had to be on a ventilator for quite some time and was in the ICU much longer then expected. For a man who has a choking phobia it was heart-wrenching to watch him try and communicate through this tube plunged down his throat.
Good news--he is out of ICU, out of the hospital and finally into a rehab unit where he is basically learning to walk again, button buttons, etc...etc...all of his basic motor skills. He is doing great and it looks like he may be released as early as next week. I am still in San Diego with him and head up to the hospital daily to help him change, take walks around the grounds and all the other basic stuff. The prodigal son has INDEED returned home. HA! Just in time for SD Pride. It is amazing to me that a city can get 140,000 LGBTs to rally in the streets for a parade and a few drinks but when we need to rally to stop our government from changing the constitution to limit our rights forever we can barely get 200 people. That said, pride was a good time had by all - I got to catch up with a lot of old friends I hadn't seen in some time and get a belly full of pride. ;) I heard James was around town during Pride but I never did run into him. What's this about braces? Hmmmm.... ;)
Upcoming projects include a new XTours trip (details coming to www.xtours.net/excursions.htm soon!), a tour of Dublin, Ireland and the Gay Life Expo in Los Angeles.
Thanks for all your great emails wondering where I had run off to. :) I am back - and going full throttle once again!
best!
