Go West, Young Man!

Well, I am just about packed and ready to go - waiting for the car service. I am headed back to San Diego for my sister's wedding next Saturday. I can't believe my big sis is getting married. I can't wait to see her walking down the isle. I'm officiating and I just hope I can get through the wedding with crying! Ha! My mom and I were chatting online the other night and I am walking my madre down the isle.

I said, "Oh great! We're going to be a mess. Let's just try to get up there without tears."
She writes back, "Well I just bought some new underwear for the wedding, black even - so we'll just think about your mom in her black panties and that will get us through."

Haha, I'm not sure what is more disturbing. The fact that my mom told me she bought new black panties or that she told me to think about her wearing them. HAHA! Now, I just hope I can get down the aisle without laughing! Below is a pic of my fam and me the last time we were all together at a wedding. It's amazing that the little girl in the photo is all "growed" up and having a wedding of her own. :)

Hey All,

As you probably heard, Sandra Day O'Connor just resigned from the Supreme Court. This is an extremely important time for our senators to hear from us - ALL OF US. They need to know that we are counting on them to stand up to President Bush and protect our rights –- because with a moderate like O'Connor stepping down and a far-right like Bush making the nomination, well, the stakes couldn't be higher.

MoveOn PAC has already started an emergency petition, and we're looking to get 250,000 signatures and comments to the Senate before Tuesday –- which is when rumor has it Bush will announce his nomination.

Please take just a minute to join me in signing this petition, so our senators know that, in what might be the fight of our lives, (women, the LGBT community, minorities and immigrants) we are standing strong and standing together.

"It is a very scary time in our country and with Sandra Day O'Connor steping down it has the potential to get even scarier. When countries like Canada and Spain are expanding the rights of their people we are living in a time when our government wants to reduce them. The Senate must stand up to President Bush and demand a Supreme Court nominee who will PROTECT the rights and freedoms of the American people not restrict them."
