Take Two...

Just got back from the set and OH MY GOD. I have been to Deliverance and back. We had a shoot in a "sleazy motel" and this place wasn't just sleazy - it was beyond. We found a crack pipe and the locals were BBQin some kind of unrecognizable meat on a grill that might have been a hubcap.

So there we are...I had a "bedroom" scene (no sorry, it's not that kind of movie :)) and there we were in the middle of the scene and one of the locals comes up and looks in the window. I am wondering where the PAs were! It must have been quite a shock to him seeing two men in a bed together. His direct quote was,

"What? Oh My God! There're two queers in the bed in there! There're two queers in the bed!"

Now put that in the most backwater West Virginia accent you can think of. (No offense to ya'll in WV - but you know the kind of accent I'm talking about) It was insane. These boys were drinkin and BBQin waiting for the prostitutes to come - which they proudly told us. OH MY GOD! Where were we! Haha! So I spent most the day in this hotel room in nothing but a sheet (It's not that kind of movie!) dodging the locals and crackpipes!

What an adventure. I'm sure it only gets better from here!

Day two on the set of, "Groom With a View." It's been fabulous here in DC but the weather OY! I forgot I have a tendency to bring the worst out in Mother Nature and this trip is no different. From blizzards to ice storms to horrific fires we can add thunderstorms to that list. We were shooting exteriors all day at this beautiful park and we had two shots to go when the clouds rolled in and the skies opened up and dumped buckets of rain. We barely got the equipment packed before the rain was so heavy we couldn't see from one car to the next. Oy!

The cast is a fun group. One of the guys in the cast, Andel, was on American Idol last season but not sure how far he made it. I don't watch those reality TV shows. Haha! And I setup my friend Angelo a role as the hot Latin limo driver. We are having a blast!

Off to the set.

All the best!

Poo and Cherries.

That's right.  I said Poo and Cherries.

What a night.  I had dinner with my friend Steve for a belated birthday.  It was a great night.  We had a great workout then headed up to Silverlake where we had a wonderful dinner, caught up on old times in the open air patio diner.  It was reaching 10pm and it was a school night so we decided to drive back to my car.  We got in his Ford-Echo and it smelled really weird.

I said, "Ack, your car really smells funny."
He replied, "Yah, I think it's the air freshener I put in yesterday."

I looked at the rear view mirror at the brown monkey airfreshener bobbing around on it's elastic string.

Leaning forward to smell it I said, "Yah, it smells like poo and cherries."

We drove a little bit and the smell became unbearable.  It was definitely poo and cherries.

"Jesus, what kind of airfreshener is this.  BLAH!  That has to be poo!"

I looked down in Steve's floor board and it is covered in dog sh*t!  I couldn't believe it!  I had stepped in the biggest pile of dog sh*t ever and smeared it all over his floorboard!  HAPPY F*CKIN' BIRTHDAY!  The best part is I HAD FLIP FLOPS ON!

We stopped the car and rushed out laughing hysterically without a clue what to do.

Steve says, "There's some water."

I start frantically trying to wash off my flip flops in the gutter.  We could hardly contain ourselves.

There we are in the beam of Steve's headlights, off Hollywood Blvd, crouching over the gutter, laughing hysterically, washing the dog sh*t off my JCrew Sandals!  Ohhhh - only me!  If it would have been a date I'm sure something would have caught on fire or there would have been a natural disaster. ;)

Ahhh Good Times...Good times!  All with Poo and Cherries.

Happy Friday.

Well the first hurdle is done. The Federal Marriage Amendment is dead. Unfortunately, all the hate and politics surrounding it are NOT. Keep voicing your opinion - keep educating - and keep fighting for the day we will have equal rights. The vote was only shy 12 votes of passing. While that seems like a lot for some there were 48 who said yes. We have a lot of work to do.

On a happier note - the new Gay.com article is up. Take a look at:

What a fantastic weekend. I got to celebrate my birthday a bit late this week. One of my best friends (you'll be reading a little more about him in the next gay.com article.)came up this weekend to celebrate. We went to the Outfest Gong Show where I helped judge along with Eve Harris from Girls Will be Girls. What a gorgeous doll! A bit of a pill popper but funny as all hell! HAHA! (See the movie)

After that I headed out with my new house mates. I swear I live in the new gay Melrose place and I love it. Very fun guys. Just trying to make it through this sluggish Monday morning.

I do want to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes. I think the 26th year is pretty uneventful but it's been a very fun birthday week.

All the best!

Fahrenheit 9/11.

WOW.

What a fantastic film. I do have to say this film is very much the voice of Michael Moore but at the same time there is enough information that no one can leave without seriously questioning the direction we are going as a nation.

It is about time SOMEONE starts calling Bush on what is going on with the current administration. It is NOT unpatriotic to question a government...Especially when things are going so badly.

Check out www.MichaelMoore.com for more information.

Letterman's Top Ten List: Top Ten George W. Bush Complaints About "Fahrenheit 9/11":

10. That actor who played the President was totally unconvincing
9. It oversimplified the way I stole the election
8. Too many of them fancy college-boy words
7. If Michael Moore had waited a few months, he could have included the part where I get him deported
6. Didn't have one of them hilarious monkeys who smoke cigarettes and gives people the finger
5. Of all Michael Moore's accusations, only 97% are true
4. Not sure - - I passed out after a piece of popcorn lodged in my windpipe
3. Where the hell was Spider-man?
2. Couldn't hear most of the movie over Cheney's foul mouth
1. I thought this was supposed to be about dodgeball

**Next week the United States Senate will be voting on the Federal Marriage Amendment (FMA). To clarify--what this will do is write into the United States Constitution that the institution of marriage is only classified as a union between a man and a woman.

This is the first time in our history that changes in our constitution would be used to limit the rights of people not expand. Please take a few minutes and contact your senator's office and ask that your senator vote against the amendment. Whether you're pro gay-marriage or not (although I'm assuming if you're on this site you are pro-LGBT) it is not right to use the document that has been the backbone of freedom to limit the rights of the LGBT community.

Log on to www.senate.govto find your senators name and number or call the capitol toll free at 1-877-762-8762, ask for your senator's office

All you need to do is give your name, city and state and simply state that you would like to urge the senator to vote AGAINST the Federal Marriage Amendment next week.

It just gets better and better. The one thing I have to give the extreme right is that they are "extremely" organized. They have such a limited and finite platform that depends on nothing but fear tactics. That it is such a simple way to get messages across. Unfortunately a more liberal approach considers ideals on such a larger platform it is almost impossible to compete with such hate.

It is amazing to me that people who confess to be loving Christians have gotten discrimination down so well. It's funny I met a friend last weekend who was wearing a WWJD ring. For those of you who don't know what that means it's, "What Would Jesus Do?"

I ask that question to myself every time I hear George W., Rush Limbaugh, John Ashcroft and the list goes on and on. What WOULD Jesus do with these complete hypocrites. Two of those three are / were substance abusers and one outwardly expresses so much hate towards anyone not male or white.

What WOULD Jesus do? Seriously. History is repeating itself and he would tear down this market place. It's gotten so extreme we are now using ad campaigns to overtly discriminate against social groups.

Here is the most recent ad being placed in publications across the nation. Wow.

"Why Don't [Ohio] Senators DeWine and Voinovich Believe Every Child Needs a Mother and a Father?"

The ad continues to go into detail on what's wrong with "Homosexual Marriage" and why would anyone in government want to keep this little boy from a happy life. WHAT??? What about single parent homes? What about gay couples already raising children?? What does that have to do with anything? But people will eat it up. It's unfortunate.

HRC has a brilliant campaign to keep up the fight. Log on to www.HRC.org and click on Get Involved today. There are only 9 days left until the Senate votes on the FMA.

It saddens me that this is something I have to put in my blog - but the reality is we have a LONG way to go. We haven't come this far just so we can go to dance parties, be on TV and legally have sex with each other. This is about 100% equal rights. Anyone who disagrees with this fundamental truth has to really question themselves on what they feel is true equality.

Happy Fourth of July Weekend - Freedom for all?

Someday I hope so.
