Hey All!

What a day. It is so great to be back in San Diego for a few days. Headed up to Los Angeles last night with my friend Kory (www.mindchanging.com) to hear Deep Dish spin. What a amazing DJ duo. The music was out of control and so was the crowd. Met some very cool people. We danced all night and drove home this morning. It was great just to take some time away from such a hectic schedule to have a fun night out.

Just got in from a yacht cruise of the San Diego harbor. 400 gay men (and 9 lesbians) on a little boat in the middle of the ocean. Haha! Quite a sight for the other boaters in the harbor to see this boat with a rainbow flag billowing in the wind and house music blasting from the deck. It was great to see so many families and boaters come up beside us and cheer and dance along with the boys.

Gearing up for a VH1 show we're taping on the 7th, then DC pride, then the Trevor Project here in SD, then LA Pride and an event in Oklahoma City. Will be posting the updates soon. It's going to be a fabulously busy month.

All the best!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!

Rain, Rain Go AWAY! Oy! It is raining again here in New York City - I'm tellin' ya I've got some beef with Mother Nature. It was raining SO hard a few nights ago that I seriously was DRENCHED to the bone after about 5 blocks from the Subway home. Lordy! ;)

Things here have been fantastic. Been meeting a ton of people and the city is finally making sense. It takes about 3 or 4 wrong subway adventures when the grid starts to solidify in your head. Haha - I've seen more of New York by accident then on purpose.

I went with my friend Jose last night to see The Normal Heart - the 1985 Larry Kramer play. (playing at the Public Theatre, 425 Lafayette St.) It was absolutely FANTASTIC! I have never experienced and appreciated a piece of theatre as much as I did this one. It is amazing how this 1980s piece has become so relevant with the current rise in HIV status. It is really scary to think that the epidemic is slowly creeping towards the numbers that it once was. I think I was crying the hardest, but not the loudest by the end of the piece. What an emotional and supremely acted play. If you are in New York you MUST see this play. It has been extended through the summer. And if you are not in New York - you should pick it up to read. The Normal Heart by Larry Kramer.

It is amazing how relevant it is thematically for our community on so many levels.

I was walking out sobbing when this young girl walks up and says, "Wes?" through my swollen eyes and runny nose I said, "Yes." There was a magazine there that wanted to take some shots of a few people and the cast. I walked over and the few people were myself and John McDaniel (aka band leader from Rosie O'Donnell Show) He was a really great guy and it was so great meeting the cast as well.

I head back to SD for a stint on Friday - back over the country once again. I am excited though - I miss my dog. :)

All the best

God I love this city! Last night was fantastic. I went to the Troy premiere with my friend Jaime. What a night! We met up with Rose Byrne, Jaime's friend from Sydney, who I met when I was living in Australia. She is AMAZING. She plays Briseis and is just wonderful. This is truly her breakout here in the states. She nailed each and every scene and really captivated the audience.

The red carpet was just as insane. We arrived and right behind us Brad Pitt and Jen Aniston showed up. To see the energy and chaos from that perspective was out of control.

We partied until the weeee hours of the night and had a kicka** time.

I will be on Sirius Radio tomorrow at 11am Eastern talking about the premiere and all the little fun things here in New York...

Tune in at:

Holy Crap! It's been a while since I've had access to the computer. What a CRAZY last couple of weeks. I am writing from the AIDS Walk New York office where I am volunteering today. I am now in New York - and until further notice am living here. Robb and I are roommates and it's just like Boy Meets Boy days - except there are no bunk beds, only two of us and we don't drink any champagne...But it is Robb and I - and Brian H. is coming in next week so close enough. ;)

Saw a Modern Millie last night and headed down to meet Jai and Robb last night and had subway issues. It took me two hours to get what should have taken me 15 minutes. I have learned - taxis at night subway during the day. A good lesson for being in New York for one full day.

I was in New Hampshire last week for Seacost AIDS Walk -- had a wonderful time. I will fill more in on that later.

All the best!
