PS. The new Gay.com article is up today! Take a look today at:
www.gay.com

A Crazy busy day. Some really wonderful projects coming up that we are working on.

The youth stories are great. We are now looking for LGBT African-American and Asian American personal stories. If you know any great personal stories of LGBT youth or if you are one, send 'em in. I've had some really touching and heart warming stories that I can't wait to share.

As for New Orleans. What a great trip. I don't want to go into too much detail but my friends Robb, Greg and Jason did the Big Easy right. The food was fantastic, the nightlife was even better and I even got an amazing visit from Shanna, one of the first girls I dated and came out to. She's been one of my best friends for the last 7 years. I haven't seen her in about 6 months and the chances of both being in New Orleans together at the same time was just surreal.

We are really gearing up for the Matthew Shepard Foundation Gala. If you are in the Denver area around March 20th, it really is going to be an amazing event. Check out the link on the main page for more information.

And lastly, this whole marriage debate is just outrageous. God love Rosie for heading to SF. I am inspired and am really focusing on a campaign to fight against the Federal Marriage Amendment. If you haven't already, contact your congress representative. We can NOT let our President push his ideological beliefs to tarnish our constitution. Do your part. The revolution for civil rights has begun. See Featured Email to see how you can help! We cannot lay down and accept discrimination.

Night All!

After a few delays, a little rain and a lot of coffee, I finally made it home.

What an amazing time we had in New Orleans. I already miss it! We met such wonderful people, had fantastic food and really just had the best trip.

I am off to bed but will fill in the details tomorrow.

Night.

Well it is time for bed once again...How does 2am come so quickly?

I have been out with the flu since Valentine's Day. Oy! I am just about 100% recovered. Here's hoping because I have a feeling the flu and Mardi Gras are just not a good mix. I'm getting packed and ready to go. It should be an amazing trip. I will have my laptop and if I can give you a few updates before the article hits gay.com I will!

Thanks for all the submissions for the Celebration of LGBT Youth!

If you have a great story or know someone under 30 who has accomplished a lot for the LGBT Community or just in general drop me a line at wes@wesculwell.com.

All the best!

Wishing you all a warm and fuzzy February 14th!

Also, this Federal Marriage amendment is a RIDICULOUS! When in our history has been acceptable to change the foundation of this country to include discrimination against a minority. Please don't sit back and let this happen. No voice = support.

Got to The HRC website and sign the petition for Marriage Equality at
http://www.hrcactioncenter.org/ct/N7ajbCn1vQgf

If you have signed already, please get your friends to sign! It's a showing but the fact that the petition is ONLY at 260,000 signers is crazy. It should 4 times that. Stop by the site today! Forward this message to your friends. Speak out and get your friends and family involved in this fight!

***ANNOUNCEMENT***

And it's official--The Boy Meets Boy DVD is underway and should be released this spring. The DVD will include out takes of the show, never before seen footage and updates on all the mates, James and Andra. Keep your eyes peeled for the infamous Luau photo and we'll keep you posted here on the site.

Now on to politics!

All votes to constitutionally ban same-sex marriage in Massachusetts failed to pass. To date, same-sex marriages will begin in Massachusetts May 17th.
This is a huge step for the marriage issue in the face of the Federal Marriage amendment.

Even if the right wing gets their agenda passed, the earliest a constitutional ban could take effect is in the year 2006. If this country is still so behind in 2006, I say the gays and lesbians buy an island in Key West and outlaw heterosexual marriage! ;)

On to San Francisco...

Newly elected SF Mayor Newsom announced that the California Constitution prohibits discrimination and has allowed same-sex marriage.

Again, the right wing has filed lawsuits to stop the recognition of same-sex marriages/weddings in San Francisco but so far the ceremonies continue. Since Friday 150 marriage licenses have been granted by the city of San Fran.

I just have to ask--what is so threatening about two people being able to legally commit to each other? To make a point to FILE a lawsuit to keep two people from having equal rights and protection takes a mentality I just don't understand.

Our Gov-uh-nator so far has no comment.

This is our time! We are gaining ground and discovering our voice! Write the Mayor of SF in support of his decision. If you are a resident of California, hell even if you aren't, drop old Arny a note up in Sacramento to let him know you are ALL for equal rights and non discrimination!

All the best!

All right--I think we have got the bugs worked out and I can post again. Sorry for the delay. WesCulwell.com had that freakin' MyDoom virus. It is a major pain so if you haven't get some kind of virus protection--get it! It is worth it.

Things have been fabulously crazy here. Thanks on all your feedback and kudos on the last gay.com article. Keep your eye out for the next one.

I will be getting the last shipment of Instinct Magazines out this week. Thanks for your patience. The response was wonderful!
