"They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway...."

Ok, well it's not Broadway, Broadway. Not like it's Cats or something as equally as fantastic but tonight is the night. Jai Rodriguez's show Xposed benefiting the Actors Fund http://www.actorsfund.org goes up tonight. We've been rehearsing like mad this last week. I feel like I'm in a production of Crazy For You and we're putting together the show in a few days. Oh wait we are. We were at rehearsal on Sunday and it was a run through - just feverish. It should be a lot of fun.

Carson is doing an adorable rendition of Popular which should bring down the house. He was killing me on Sunday. We missed a few cues from laughing so hard - we're not good to put together. Pure trouble in the wings. ;)

I honestly have this recurring dream where I'm in a show and I've been to a few rehearsals but things have changed and I don't really know what I'm doing - but I go out and do numbers and it is so stressful...and I get off stage and frantically flip through the script to see what's next. I always juuuuust make it and pull it off. It's happening tonight. Haha

Here's to a good show.

Hey All!

Was sent this via the site by a friend of mine in San Diego. Haha! I can't wait...

OTTAWA (Reuters) - A cold spell gripping Ottawa is so intense that houses have started to produce loud cracking noises, prompting worried citizens to report burglaries and gunfire, local police said Wednesday. Spokeswoman Monique Ackland said police had received around 20 calls Monday night and Tuesday morning, when temperatures in the Canadian capital dipped to an unseasonably low minus 40 Celsius (minus 40 Fahrenheit). "Those were calls about breaking and entering, people making excessive noise and calls about gunshots," she said. Police responded to each alarm and rapidly realized crime was not responsible. "Those calls were all (prompted by) the cold," she said, adding that one possible reason for the loud noises were exploding nails.

Are you sure you want to go to Canada? eh.

Booty A** Cold!

Haha! Just when I think my body is getting adjusted to winter in New York it drops another 10 degrees. I love that the majority of your day is spent bundling and unbundling in order just to get across the street!

I am gearing up to hit Canada full force in about three weeks (see the mainpage for more details). I can't wait -- but I hear if I think NY is cold...Just wait! It will be great to come back to New York and feel like I've found a heat wave.

Some news and updates:

Two new articles coming out in February. The Boy Meets Boy trip to Costa Rica will be featured in the February travel issue of Instinct Magazine. Pick up a copy to get trip details, top 5 things to do (and not do) in Costa Rica as well as photos from the trip!

A new magazine, Scene, will be launching in February and including a new project I am working on. I will have links to the website /magazine info and announcing the new project at that time as well. Keep checking back for more details.

Hope you're keeping warm and dry wherever you are!

Aye Dios Mio! That is all I can really say. Aye Dios FREAKIN' Mio!

Where to even begin this story...

Came in on Saturday night after a night out with the boys. I was checking my email getting ready for bed and my neighbors were being SO loud. It was like 2:30 am so I'm thinking...what on earth are they doing. Eh, but decide to just ignore them. After about 20-30 minutes of running in the hallway, yelling and banging on the walls, I go to my front door to look out my peephole and nothing. It looks like someone had covered it up. Then I hear walkie talkies...Confused, I open the door and thick, black smoke comes billowing in my apartment. I shut the door and then it sinks in. My building is on fire!

Now, I live on the 26th floor so there is no fire escape out the window or easy way to get out. I open the door again and see about 20-25 fire fighters in my hallway. I yell, "Excuse me, should I evacuate?" I mean--what else do you say? A fire-fighter yells, "Get back in your apartment! Now!" Um, ok...so I did what any self respecting homosexual would do in case of emergency. I called my mom.

Can you imagine being on the other side of the country and getting a phone-call from your baby boy at 1am that sounds something like this, "Hi, um Mom...yah I don't want to alarm you, but my building is on fire and they won't let me leave my apartment." Oh, the trials I put this poor woman through! So we talked for about an hour and strategized on all the what if scenarios I was going to have to do...putting wet towels along the door, calling the non-emergency line of the fire department, etc...etc...

So about after an hour I hear the chaos calming down out in the hallway. I crack the door and see most of the smoke is gone and there are only about 6 fire fighters left. I motion over, "Everything ok?" "Yup everything is under control."

I couldn't believe it. No alarms, no knock on the door letting me know the floor of my apartment building was on fire! I still can't believe it!

I found out this am that two of the apartments on my floor (there are only 5) burned. Someone had left linseed oil soaked rags in their closet and they ignited. Who knew! Nobody was hurt thank goodness. I just have a very smelly apartment and some smelly clothes but at least I have them. Could have been much worse.

Aye! So here's hoping this is the most excitement I'm going to be getting in 2005. Well, with major catastrophes anyways...

Flamingly yours,

Hey All!

I know it's been a while since my last post. I have been getting settled back in NYC and loving every minute of it. New Year's was an absolute blast. I had been sick but went out to celebrate the end of 2004 none-the-less. What was I thinking?! I somehow pulled myself together and after two days of causing trouble with the gang I crashed and slept about 20 hours. I don't think I've ever slept that much all the way through in my life! I am back and kicking now and I wouldn't have missed a minute of the weekend for anything!

I brought in the New Year seeing a live performance of Amanda Lepore's, "Champagne," at Opaline here in New York. At midnight she started her fabulous song while go-go boys came of the stage in Speedos and bow-ties, carrying bottles of champagne to pour for / on the audience. It was fantastic. The night went on from there. My friend / fashion guru, Angelo, finally got a chance to meet Richie Rich. He wanted to ask for a job but *alas* he forgot to bring his resume to the New Year's bash. Hey Richie...you hiring? ;)

Most everyone has made it back to the West Coast. Thanks to everyone who came out. It was a weekend to put in the books. Happy 2005!

In other news, I will be heading to Canada in February with Out & About magazine / Gay.com. Look at the main page for details soon.

All the best,

-W
